Why do so many people recommend investing in real estate for retirement?
Why should you have real estate as part of your retirement portfolio? I’m obviously a little biased, but there are many advantages to owning real estate.
Most wealthy people own real estate as part of their investment portfolio, and there are good reasons why. It’s safe, secure, and a great hedge against inflation. On top of that, you can put as much effort into your investment as you like. You can completely upgrade it from the ground up, or you can sit on it and let it slowly appreciate. The choice is yours.
Even your personal residence can be useful as an investment by taking advantage of capital gain exemptions. The more you understand about how real estate works, the easier it is to understand why so many people view it as an amazing investment.
